Lisa spent the first 15 years of her professional career building a successful insurance agency with her husband and business partner, Regi Powell. Lisa has always had a passion for health, wellness and fitness. She fell in love with Reformer Pilates almost 10 years ago. However local Reformer classes were expensive and the availability of classes was very limited. When Lisa was introduced to the Club Pilates brand and concept, she knew it was something she wanted to pursue. She is ecstatic about being able to provide a superior product at a fair price so everyBODY can experience and enjoy the endless benefits of Reformer Pilates. When she is not in the studio, you can find her chasing after her two young and very busy little girls.
Jodi, small town girl from Sidney, Nebraska, has always had a passion for movement and helping others. She has enjoyed exercise most of her life, and in 2018 made training her full time career. Jodi is currently working on her PMA certification. She has enjoyed the process of learning and growing in her own pilates practice and has noticed drastic changes in her body because of it. She feels privileged to now help others in their pilates practice and see improvements in their bodies. Her education, experience and passion allows her to use Pilates as well as other methods of movement to help her clients reach their goals. You will definitely want to take one of her upbeat, challenging and fun classes!
I have always enjoyed fitness as a runner, biker, climber, and yogi. Not long after I became a registered yoga teacher, I was introduced to Pilates which I fell in love with instantly. The mind body focus is similar to that of yoga and I love the emphasis on stability, strength, and body awareness. I quickly signed up for Pilates teacher training so I could share this new love with others. As a 7th grade teacher, I feel great joy when I am able to facilitate learning and encourage my students to be the best version of themselves. Through teaching Pilates, I find a similar joy in helping others find strength, stability, and balance both physically and mentally through guiding them in their practice.
I grew up as a dancer for 13 years and was drawn to Pilates for the graceful, fluid movements that reminded me of my dancing days. I quickly learned that Pilates was so much more than just a “pretty” workout as I gained more strength and body awareness than I had ever known before! I have a full-time career as a Chiropractor and own a practice with my husband where I focus exclusively on women’s health and spinal care. Because of my Chiropractic background, I love that Club Pilates classes emphasize proper body alignment, breathing, flexibility, and movements that are safe for all levels of fitness and health. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree at American University in Washington, D.C. where I studied foreign language interpretation (Spanish, French and Russian) and then spent 8 months living in Argentina before beginning Chiropractic school. I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa - which is also where I met my husband. When I’m not with patients or teaching classes you can find me taking a class or out on the town with my husband - we are suckers for a good happy hour!
As an adult I always enjoyed moving with my exercise of choice being running. A series of knee injuries, lots of physical therapy, and doctors telling me to start swimming led me to -Pilates! After practicing for several years, I was asked by my instructor to be an instructor. I love learning as much as moving so it was the perfect fit. I am certified through Balanced Body University in Mat, Reformer I, and Reformer II. As mom of 5 and kindergarten teacher I love the opportunity to share my passion for movement and learning with grown-ups!
I entered the fitness world at age 60 after years of a high stress, no exercise existence as a law firm administrator. I retired from that life and discovered a passion for Pilates and fitness. I have now been a personal trainer for five years, teaching Pilates (I am a Peak Pilates Level II certified instructor (mat, reformer, tower, chair, Cadillac/trapeze)); I became a nutrition coach in 2016; I am certified to teach TRX; I practice HRV (heart rate variability) fitness scheduling; and am an ISSA-certified Personal Trainer with an emphasis on senior fitness. As a boomer, I know I can serve as an inspiration to people of all ages and physical abilities. Join us and see how much fun you can have getting and staying fit!
I was drug to my first step aerobics class, kicking and screaming the whole way, when I was 18 yrs old; at 19, I started teaching and have loved the journey it has taken me on for the last 26 years. I became certified in many different styles of fitness classes from Step, Hi Low, Shadow boxing (TaeBo style), Kickboxing, Spinning, Boot Camp, Power Pump, Zumba, Yoga, HIIT, Mat Science and Personal Training as well as becoming lifeguard certified, Instructor Trainer certified and Water Safety Instructor. I absolutely love leading fitness classes and helping people become healthier versions of themselves at every fitness level and age. I have taught everyone from the littles all the way up to my 70 and 80 year olds who still enjoy coming to classes and moving their bodies at appropriate levels for them. About 5 years ago, my fitness lifestyle was drastically changed as I felt my hip give out on me during a Zumba cool down. After many years of rest, ice, pain meds, physical therapy, chiropractic appts and one injection... I recently received the news that at 45 years old, I need a new left hip. All of my years of jumping and pounding and twisting had really done a number on me. Pilates has become my saving grace as I am no longer pounding or muscling through my workouts but rather being kind to my body and learning the control and strengthen from within and I'm so happy to be able to continue to leading classes for EVERY BODY. Outside of Club Pilates, I am a full-time Realtor, mother of two college age daughters; Lexi 21 and Berit 18, and teach many of the before mentioned classes part-time at the Blair YMCA. I love reading inspirational books, listening to 80's classic rock, hiking (especially the Grand Canyon) and spending time with family and friends. Above all, I love the Lord and am thankful for this gift He's given to me.
Gerri has been teaching Pilates for over 18 years. She began teaching mat pilates classes in the evenings during her 30 year tenure in Corporate America. After leaving, her corporate job, Gerri began her training and certification for Pilates Reformer and Tower, as well as becoming certified as a Senior Fitness Instructor. She has worked in various gyms, schools, churches and individual people's homes in Omaha as well as her own studio teaching group and private pilates sessions. Gerri is very enthusiastic about Pilates and has been very athletic all of her life. She even received her Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. She enjoys working with people to meet their individual goals and help them with their overall health. This also led her to become trained and certified as a Health Coach during 2018. She is currently working on her Life Coach Certification. When not instructing classes or working out herself, Gerri can be found enjoying life, traveling with her husband, playing tennis, skiing, golfing, body boarding, rock climbing and running around with her soon to be 11 grandchildren!
As a Nurse Practitioner, fitness and health have always been a passion of mine. I started my Pilates journey during my first pregnancy and discovered the benefits pre and postpartum. The change I saw In myself, I want to share and help others find that mind-body connection. Club Pilates has been an amazing Pilates model for every population. I have practiced in various studios the past 3 years in California and Illinois. I look forward to helping others and extending my practice in Nebraska.
I was born and raised in Omaha NE. Married to my high school sweetheart and a mother of two. I have always loved yoga, cycling, and mat Pilates. After my first month of trying reformer Pilates I immediately felt the difference in my body. Better posture, stronger, and less body/joint pain. After 6 years of being a stay at home mother I decided it was time to become certified and share the benefits of Pilates with others. I have always had a passion for helping others, and this truly allows me to do so. I look forward to every class I teach, and hope to see you in one soon!
Rachel has a dance background and was introduced to Pilates through the dance program at Loyola Marymount University, where she also received her Bachelor of Science in Biology in 2015. Pilates became a necessary part of her daily routine while in undergrad, and aided in injury prevention and whole-body strengthening while sustaining long hours of dancing and classes each day. She noticed a significant increase in energy and generalized improvement of her every day life, and become a Pilates instructor to share her love for Pilates and the wonders it has done for her with others. She received her Pilates Certification through Polestar Pilates shortly after graduating, and has taught at multiple studios in Los Angeles. Her love for Pilates and her background in biology inspired her to become a physical therapist and she is currently enrolled in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at Creighton University. She incorporates her passions for health, fitness, and dancing into her classes, creating a fun, healthful, and mindful experience.
My passion for all types of movement is what led me to a life long career in the field of exercise physiology and fitness. I have a B.A. degree in Physical Education, a Masters Degree in Human Performance and I am an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist. I have enjoyed 20 plus years working in Cardiopulmonary Rehab, personal training and teaching group exercise/Pilates classes. In my spare time, I may have raised a few kids, run a few triathlons and organized a couple flash mobs. I am reminded every day of the positive effects exercise has on our physical and psychological well being. I look forward to sharing my enthusiasm for Pilates, encouraging a happier lifestyle and helping people discover what their bodies are capable of achieving.
