  • Lisa Powell-Owner

    Owner

Lisa spent the first 15 years of her professional career building a successful insurance agency with her husband and business partner, Regi Powell. Lisa has always had a passion for health, wellness and fitness. She fell in love with Reformer Pilates almost 10 years ago. However local Reformer classes were expensive and the availability of classes was very limited. When Lisa was introduced to the Club Pilates brand and concept, she knew it was something she wanted to pursue. She is ecstatic about being able to provide a superior product at a fair price so everyBODY can experience and enjoy the endless benefits of Reformer Pilates. When she is not in the studio, you can find her chasing after her two young and very busy little girls.

Jodi is currently working on her PMA certification. She has enjoyed the process of learning and growing in her own pilates practice and has noticed drastic changes in her body because of it. She feels privileged to now help others in their pilates practice and see improvements in their bodies. Her education, experience and passion allows her to use Pilates as well as other methods of movement to help her clients reach their goals. You will definitely want to take one of her upbeat, challenging and fun classes!

I have always enjoyed fitness as a runner, biker, climber, and yogi. Not long after I became a registered yoga teacher, I was introduced to Pilates which I fell in love with instantly. The mind body focus is similar to that of yoga and I love the emphasis on stability, strength, and body awareness. I quickly signed up for Pilates teacher training so I could share this new love with others. As a 7th grade teacher, I feel great joy when I am able to facilitate learning and encourage my students to be the best version of themselves. Through teaching Pilates, I find a similar joy in helping others find strength, stability, and balance both physically and mentally through guiding them in their practice.

I grew up as a dancer for 13 years and was drawn to Pilates for the graceful, fluid movements that reminded me of my dancing days. I quickly learned that Pilates was so much more than just a “pretty” workout as I gained more strength and body awareness than I had ever known before! I have a full-time career as a Chiropractor and own a practice with my husband where I focus exclusively on women’s health and spinal care. Because of my Chiropractic background, I love that Club Pilates classes emphasize proper body alignment, breathing, flexibility, and movements that are safe for all levels of fitness and health. I completed my Bachelor’s Degree at American University in Washington, D.C. where I studied foreign language interpretation (Spanish, French and Russian) and then spent 8 months living in Argentina before beginning Chiropractic school. I received my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa - which is also where I met my husband. When I’m not with patients or teaching classes you can find me taking a class or out on the town with my husband - we are suckers for a good happy hour!

As an adult I always enjoyed moving with my exercise of choice being running. A series of knee injuries, lots of physical therapy, and doctors telling me to start swimming led me to -Pilates! After practicing for several years, I was asked by my instructor to be an instructor. I love learning as much as moving so it was the perfect fit. I am certified through Balanced Body University in Mat, Reformer I, and Reformer II. As mom of 5 and kindergarten teacher I love the opportunity to share my passion for movement and learning with grown-ups!

I was drug to my first step aerobics class, kicking and screaming the whole way, when I was 18 yrs old; at 19, I started teaching and have loved the journey it has taken me on for the last 26 years. I became certified in many different styles of fitness classes from Step, Hi Low, Shadow boxing (TaeBo style), Kickboxing, Spinning, Boot Camp, Power Pump, Zumba, Yoga, HIIT, Mat Science and Personal Training as well as becoming lifeguard certified, Instructor Trainer certified and Water Safety Instructor. I absolutely love leading fitness classes and helping people become healthier versions of themselves at every fitness level and age. I have taught everyone from the littles all the way up to my 70 and 80 year olds who still enjoy coming to classes and moving their bodies at appropriate levels for them. About 5 years ago, my fitness lifestyle was drastically changed as I felt my hip give out on me during a Zumba cool down. After many years of rest, ice, pain meds, physical therapy, chiropractic appts and one injection... I recently received the news that at 45 years old, I need a new left hip. All of my years of jumping and pounding and twisting had really done a number on me. Pilates has become my saving grace as I am no longer pounding or muscling through my workouts but rather being kind to my body and learning the control and strengthen from within and I'm so happy to be able to continue to leading classes for EVERY BODY. Outside of Club Pilates, I am a full-time Realtor, mother of two college age daughters; Lexi 21 and Berit 18, and teach many of the before mentioned classes part-time at the Blair YMCA. I love reading inspirational books, listening to 80's classic rock, hiking (especially the Grand Canyon) and spending time with family and friends. Above all, I love the Lord and am thankful for this gift He's given to me.

I was born and raised in Omaha NE. Married to my high school sweetheart and a mother of two. I have always loved yoga, cycling, and mat Pilates. After my first month of trying reformer Pilates I immediately felt the difference in my body. Better posture, stronger, and less body/joint pain. After 6 years of being a stay at home mother I decided it was time to become certified and share the benefits of Pilates with others. I have always had a passion for helping others, and this truly allows me to do so. I look forward to every class I teach, and hope to see you in one soon!

My passion for all types of movement is what led me to a life long career in the field of exercise physiology and fitness. I have a B.A. degree in Physical Education, a Masters Degree in Human Performance and I am an American College of Sports Medicine Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist. I have enjoyed 20 plus years working in Cardiopulmonary Rehab, personal training and teaching group exercise and Pilates classes.
